Koen has >25 years of experience studying the efficacy and mode-of-action of prebiotics on health and disease through the gut microbiota. He is the initiator and co-organizer of the Beneficial Microbes Conference-series, editor-in-chief of the journal Beneficial Microbes, founder and CEO of the company Beneficial Bugs B.V. and co-CSO of the spin-off company InnerBuddies. Koen is also a microbiome expert at Wageningen Food and Biobased Research of Wageningen University and Research.
